Pneumatic Advantages and disadvantages

1) Using air as the working medium, it is easy to obtain; the air after use is discharged into the atmosphere, which is convenient to handle. Compared with hydraulic transmission, it is not necessary to set up an oil return device.
2) Due to the small viscosity of the air, the energy loss in the flow process is also small, energy saving and high efficiency, suitable for centralized supply and long-distance transportation.
3) Compared with hydraulic transmission, pneumatic action has fast response, simple maintenance, clean working medium, and no problems such as medium deterioration and replenishment.
4) Good adaptability to the working environment, especially suitable for working under harsh conditions such as flammable, explosive, dusty, strong magnetism, strong radiation, vibration, etc., and the leakage does not pollute the environment. It is most suitable for testing and other environments.
5) Low cost, automatic overload protection.
6) Due to the compressibility of air, the stability of working speed is poor.
7) Due to the low working pressure (generally 0.3 ~ lMPa), the structure size should not be too large, and the total output force should not be greater than 10 ~ 40 kN.
8) The noise is large, and a muffler should be added when exhausting at high speed.
9) The transmission speed of the pneumatic signal in the pneumatic device is slower than that of the electron and the speed of light. Therefore, the pneumatic signal transmission is not suitable for high-speed and complex circuits.
10) Since the air itself has no lubricating performance, an oil lubrication device should be installed in the air circuit.
